Born in 1976. Living and working in Lisbon, Portugal.
Choreographer, performer, visual artist, art teacher and producer.
Holding a Post-Graduate degree in Communication Sciences – Contemporary Culture and New Technologies at the Faculty of Human and Social Sciences of the Universidade Nova de Lisboa, he graduated in Education through Art and Stage and Costume Design at the Escola Superior de Teatro e Cinema.
He has continuously participated in several workshops in contemporary dance (1995-2005) in Portugal and abroad.
Between 2000 and 2002 he was granted a scholarship in dance from Centro Nacional de Cultura.
Since 1997 he has been developing choreographical and visual arts projects, along with educational/training projects, which have been presented in Portugal, Spain, Italy, United Kingdom, Switzerland, Germany, Russia, France, Belgium, United Arab Emirates and Brazil.
As a dancer, he has worked with Amalgama Dance Company (Portugal, 2002), with the choreographer Lynda Gaudreau (France, 2004) and with the choreographer Christian Rizzo (Lisbon, 2005) developing an artistic research project. In theater, he was worked with Luis Castro (Karnart/National Theatre), as a performer and as movement assistant.
He has also taught in the domain of Contemporary Dance and Education through Art in several artistic institutions and universities. He is Artistic Director, Resident Choreographer and Teacher at PLURAL| Inclusive Dance Company of the LPDM – Social Resources Center. Presently, he supervises the workshop on Contemporary Dance for seniors at EIRA 33, which he has been coordinating since 2001 in several institutions (Centro Cultural de Belém, Fórum Dança, Rede Comum).
Recently he was involved in “COLABORAtÓRIO”, an international collaboration project involving several choreographers from Europe and South America, developed in Rio de Janeiro, Belo Horizonte and Fortaleza, Brazil (co-production: Festival Panorama/BZ, Artsadmin/UK, Alkantara/PT) co-creating and performing the group piece “Carmen Miranda is dead” in Brazil.
He presented the solo work “Private Collection”, which follows the solo “Last Call”, both part of a trilogy about Identity, Objects, Travels and Love relations concluded with the group piece "Long Distance Call" recently presented in Frankfurt (co-production: PLATEAUX Festival/Mousonturm and Festival Temps d'Images).
His last solo piece "Fatigues" result of 3 residencies developed between 2007 and 2009 in Paris, Brussels and Lisbon will be premièred in May (co-production: CDCE, Núcleo de Criação do Dirceu and Eira).
He is associated artist of EIRA (Production Company).
